tried using proquake 4 but having problems

im hoping someone can help, everytime i try to load proquake 4 its give me this w_loadwadfile: couldnt load gfx.wad would someone please helpme get it working correctly

make sure you have pak0.pak inside ID1 folder.

Proquake is just a client/engine and still needs the original Quake assets , which are pak0.pak and pak1.pak

*\Quake\Id1\pak0.pak & pak1.pak belong here
*\Quake\proquake4 belongs in this folder

i can only find pak0.pak pak1.pk3 but theres no pak1.pak in the quake folder

you need to purchase quake and get your hands on pak0.pak and pak1.pak , once you have these 2 files you're good to go!

maybe he "found" a pk3 version of quake1 which would be illegal

which means he needs a PK3 supporting engine. Who knows?

I know, we need a fully capable/compliant/legal providable download.
