I have just tried to put Quake Injector (downloaded from Quaddicted) onto a new laptop but it fails with the following "Database Parsing Failed..." error.
I have the latest version of java (according to their updates page) and I'm not sure what else to do to remedy this issue. Help!!
EDIT: I should also say that I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64bit with Microsoft Security Essentials...
Thanks, I tried that but it made no difference. I also had a look around and found others having a similar problem with other Java based software in Win7 so I downloaded a Microsoft hotfix that did nothing.
Thanks anyway guys but I'm just giving up. I just can't be bothered with it now. The fun's kinda gone...
For security I'm using MSE and I'm not sure how to even find what it blocks and what it doesn't.
EDIT: Had a look around and found how to allow programs connect through Windows Firewall. Sadly, it only seems to recognise what it considers applications (.exe, .com etc) and doesn't recognise .jar files...
my bad i did not read the issue close enuf and the solution i had is bunk... i thought you were having a diff issue.
is some kind of firewall blocking the program from connecting to the net? if the Injector can not connect to the web site your gonna have a bad time... this is just a guess and ill shut up now and let some one help you that knows whats up and stop guessing...
check the ID1 folder for .ent files... if you are useing the smc or some kind of HD pack then you probley have them... pull them out and toss them on the desktop when not playing maps made by "Quake" ... that should fix the issue.
