JoeQuake GL flashing
Half of the time when I start JoeQuake GL I will press ESC to go the menu and it will flash on and off. The menu will keep flashing until I exit the program. Half of the time it does this and other times the menu comes up fine. Does anybody else have this problem?Tags: None

This is the same exact problem I always face with gl quake or joe quake ect ect. which is why I just use winquake/winproquake.... Those seem to work fine for me.

I'll help you over AIMOriginally posted by Polish RifleP.S. I know this question isn't for this thread but while I'm at it. I just downloaded some skins for Quake 1. How do I get these skins to work? Or do they only work for certain servers for online play?

Wow. Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it. Unfortunatly it does say Intel in my graphic card even though it supports GL. It's a really weird thing. I started JoeQuake 5 times today without it happening and the 6th time it flashed. I guess I'll just deal with it for now. Thanks again.

I've never heard of this problem, but crazy things happen with video cards -- I wish it weren't so.
What video card are you using?

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Settings Tab -> Shows the exact display adapter.
If it has the word "Intel" in the display adapter, I have a feeling there is no good fix. You can always try to update the drivers for your card by clicking advanced and update drivers on the settings tab, but beware -- updating video drivers is not a risk-free thing all the time.
OpenGL seems to work best with GeForce and Radeon cards, in my experience .
