    Graphic error in Quake Enhanced

I just imported Quake Enhanced from an old computer hard drive to my laptop. The game quake works but the large shotgun ammo has a white line glich around it.

I cannot get Quake Enhanced anymore. Anything i can do to fix the problem? Does anybody have Quake Enhanced that can give me game data?

Well, that has an installer. So you don't need to do 4 pages of posts to explain where stuff goes.

If recommending: "Just download DarkPlaces and get some textures." I expected a link to the Darkplaces engine + Quake Revitalization Projekt, which covers almost all textures in Quake except monsters. For monsters you can grab the Quake Reforged ones if you want.

At least you will play something similar to Quake then.

I did wonder when reading your first post:

If what you required was actually the game more so than an alternative engine.

    Link to Quake.

    Link to other Quake games.

Abashi76, the quakespam download only contains the engine. It doesnt include the game data.
You need to buy Quake and put the pak0.pak and pak1.pak into quakespasm´s folder inside an id1 subfolder.

directq will tell you that it cannot find Quake. Which is a better failure message

I'm sure spirit will have got it covered over on the excellent Quaddicted site kindly linked above by Primal, but just in case it's of any use to you there are also a number of versions of DirectQ available on the Q1 Multiplayer File Repo (link) courtesy of Mindzy who I believe was a great supporter of DirectQ.

    Hope this helps

Abashi76, I can only think of an 'enhanced engine' when you say Quake enhanced.
If you want to play your Quake on newer OS, you should use one of the existing enhanced quake engines rather than using original quake or glquake executables.

When you browse to the home page of this forum you will find some of the most popular ones: QuakeOne
Scroll down and you will find them on the right side.

If you want your quake to be faithful looking, then try quakespasm or directq. There are also software render engines for the real authentic look if you prefer. Both mentioned have very low hardware requirements.
