Sound is messed up.

im new to the site but not new to quake

just wondering if I could get some help.. i just reinstalled quake 1 and installed all the proquake etc etc but i have a little problem...

my sound is crackling and seems lagged and a bit echo'd...

C:\QUAKE\glpro.exe -conwidth 800 -conheight 600 -noautostretch -width 800 -height 600 -heapsize 30000 -minmemory 20000

im running this as a command line right now....

any help or suggestions would greatly be appriciated..

Downloading two files and renaming them they copying them into a folder = esier than searching for your windows (or whatever) disc, searching for drivers, makinf sure they're the right ones, resetting everything to your perfered settings, reinstalling all ur games, defrag harddrive again...?!!

So, guy with a sound problem, it's perfectly OK to try and use sound paks.

Pak1, Quake pak1 unmodified
Pak2, maps: euroquake and Rquake maps
Pak3, the 25meg Quake Sound Resampling pak
Pak4, the 3meg Quake Sound Resampling pak
Done at ny.ecliptiq.com, another cheatfree server, as phathookups was full.

foqer I find it hard to believe that you added another pak file with the cheatfree and passed the check. Also, make sure your sentences MAKE SENSE before you post them :-/

and just so you know, Shmack, Quakeone servers, and Fear are not cheat free servers. Try joining phat

You are not modifying the origional pak files, you're more of them.

yah i really dont wanna have to worry about modifying the .pak files..
im entering that silly tournament soon and i dont wanna jeprodise me or my team from being kicked out..

k.. with pq_drawfps.. i get around 250 average


i have my pq_maxfps at 300 cause for some weird reason it actually makes the sound alot better.. when i put it down to 150 it gets worse.. when im fighting someone and my fps drops to 250ish my sound also goes to shit so does my whole quake and it feels like im going laggin..

i dont think it something wrong with my computer but maybe a format would help?

Well the sound paks worked for me, unmodified. Stop making the poor guy worry.
