    Closing GLPRO.exe hangs computer!

I just got my new computer, and whenever I exit from glpro.exe, my computer hangs and all these weird colors appear on the screen. Sometimes it'll be like half the screen some blue color, other times it'll be all different colors. I tried doing CTRL+ALT+DEL and it sent me back to the desktop, but there were all weird black blotches all over the screen. I hit the num lock keys to see if the keyboard was responsive, and it wasn't. So I had no choice but to hit the restart button on my computer.

GLPRO.exe starts up easily, and plays perfectly fine, but just when I close it is when I have problems.

This problem doesn't happen with DarkPlaces, which is the only other quake client that I have tried. My video card is an Nvidia GeForce 7950 gx2 1gb ram (a fairly new card (the fastest single card out there), glpro may not like it), processor amd athlon 4800+ dualcore with hypertransport, 2gb RAM.

I'm glad you're here to lecture me when I didn't ask for it Now why don't you refer that info to everyone instead of pointing it at me. Thanks but no thanks

This thread has gone off topic and I didn't see the point in posting something serious or relevant.

btw, you fail at quoting me

Quadros are very expensive. Thry are meant for video rendering, not gamers. They are NOT for games!!

There are cheaper Quadro cards, but I selected this one as it seems to be middle-range. 256mb, AGP. Over $1000. As the reviewers say, NOT a gaming card.

Sounds like the problem I'm having. I've found that pressing Win+L to go to the welcome screen, then clicking my name on there fixes it nicely.

Taxpayers! Monster must be the government! o.O
Anyways, try turning ansiotropic filtering and antialaising down to simply 4x. I reaslly never notice a difference beyond 4x.

As crazy as it sounds, I do get frame loss on certain games such as FEAR and darkplaces. Everything else runs perfectly smooth. Throw in another card, would make it QUAD SLI since there are 2 GPU's on each card. i would have to shell out $600 to get another one of those cards however..

Actually was $2500. A very good deal. I might be getting another one of those cards so it can be in QUAD SLI setup.

    fuck you
I get 45 fps w/o realtime anything on 1024x768 w/o antialaising and w/o ansiotropic filtering w/o everything to the max. You're fortunate to have a dad that can spend $3000-$5000 on you just for a computer.
P.S.: Dont take it seriously when I said "fuck you", heh.
