I just started messing around with using ports for Quake, one of them is Qrack.
I'm guessing this has been asked before, but do the Mission Packs work on Qrack? And if so, how? (I already have both of them installed [from my original CD-ROMs] in my WinQuake/GLQuake fldr.) Thanks.

Mission Packs on Qrack...?

Just so you know, Jeehun Hwang did the music for both expansions, the Dissolution of Eternity score is similar, but with more aztec themes rather than electronica
I honestly prefer DoE, maybe because I played it first - but I really just liked the statues, the wraiths, the mini-bosses, and the elemental themed levels. And the dragon just seemed cooler than Armagon, with a less boring map.

I did just that, leaving the -game part out of it. It worked! And playing Dissolution of Eternity on Qrack is excellent!Originally posted by Lardarseadd either -hipnotic for Scourge or Armagon, or -rogue for Dissolusion of Eternity [to the cmd-line].
Thank you very much!

Oh, Scourge of Armagon is excellent, almost as good as Quake itself. The audio-soundtrack is half the fun and just fits the game sooo well! Since I've played it to the end recently, I'm about to start Dissolution of Eternity. Maybe I'll play it via Qrack or DarkPlaces instead of via GLQuake. I'm gonna try that cmd-line with Qrack. Thanks!

They do. You need to use the command line that you usualy do when you start your favouite engine, with just 1 small change: add either -hipnotic for Scourge or Armagon, or -rogue for Dissolusion of Eternity.
Now before I get a bunch of newbs replying to this, saying that you need to do -game blah blah etc... you don't. The engine recognizes the special option, and then knows to look in the correct folders for the files, and knows to use the special custom hud stuff.
Most people agree that SoA is the better mission pack. Many of those believe that it's because John Romero had a hand in helping them create it. But both of them ave some very interesting additions...

Qrack works just like any other standard Quake, I think the command would be:
c:\quake\glqrack.exe -hipnotic
c:\quake\glqrack.exe -rogue
And if those don't work
c:\quake\glqrack.exe -game hipnotic
c:\quake\glqrack.exe -game rogue
I don't have the docs in front of me, but it should work exactly like specified in the Mission Pack docs.
