    Quake in wide screen

I'm looking at a Samsung 244T wide screen monitor to buy in the near future. Darkplaces video options has a setting for 1920 x 1200, which is the 244T's native resolution. I was wondering if anyone here played Quake in wide screen format on any other wide screen monitor, and how well it looks compared to 4:3 monitors.

Sorry for no screen shots this morning. It was late last night and I crashed. I'll try to get you a couple in the near future.

I asked this in http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/, but never got an answer. Thanks all! BTW http://www.widescreengamingforum.com is a good source for settings up for many games for wide screen monitors..

Awsome. I gotta get me a faster computer with a widescreen moniter. Quake won't make a difference but the new games lag like hell. Just got the new America's Army and I get like 10 FPS on the menu screens lol.

I got a 20.1 widescreen a few months back, I could never go back to my old 4:3 17"

I run Qrack in 1280x720 with a fov of 100. Looks awesome, here's an ss:

I think "native" is the keyword here.

If you would try anything other than the "native" resolution it would look as Mindz stated earlier.

it basically stretches your quake is all,and quake players are gonna be fat-asses. when I used a desktop resolution of 1200x900 , my quake in window'd mode would make players all tall looking and shit because of the WS desktop resolution , but I dunno Qrack might run okay or even darkplaces, it depends on if the widescreen modes in either engine support it properly with black bars
