What do I need to get re-started in quake?

Hey guys,

It has been about 6yrs since I last quaked. What mods/maps/Whatevers do I need to get back into the swing of things.. Are there crosshair patches/name creators still? I don't like to cheat But I do like the mods that take away the shadows and stuff of that nature..... Any help that you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

If you just want to play Quake as Quake, get the ProQuake Launcher (http://www.quakeone.com/proquake) and the QuakeOne Maps (http://www.quakeone.com/maps)pack.

if you want a different type of Quake experience, get Qrack (http://www.quakeone.com/qrack) or for a very different Quake experience get DarkPlaces.
