Not very Cpu literate, I want to play Quake mp. Where do I start?

Hey guys.

Bit of history.

Played a lot of Quake one MP back in the late 90's. Played Painkeep and TF mostly.

I want to play it again, where do I start. Is there any downloads on here? Then how do I get onto a server?

Does anyone play TF and Painkeep anymore?

If you can stand the slightly higher ping there is a new Painkeep server in western europe at flanders.sergame.org:26002 and you should be able to download the mod from here. The server does have both the original set of maps plus the later "nothing" set of 20 maps but you may need to fish around to get these or speak nicely to one of the admins.

hello jazman84, unfortunately I do not know of any US PainKeep servers (PK = fun stuff though)

As for TF I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get a game goin if you find a TF server on the server browser & heres the link to whats left of the downloads
