Quake Shareware 1.01 problem

A while back, I got the Quake Shareware CD (The one with the fancy package) at a local thrift shop. I was all excited to play, and then I see that it's only the first level. I looked on the internet and found a thing called Qcrack. I found an FAQ, but when it says

4. Run the QCRACK.EXE program with the Challenge code as the first parameter.

Example: Challenge Code: Q23 349 539 202
You use : QCRACK Q23349539202

I don't know how to put in the Challenge code into the program, as it doesn't let me type in it. How do I do it? Where do I enter the challenge code at?

Quick Question: Do you guy's also do Quake 2 servers, mods and such? I haven't looked around here enough to find out. (EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out for myself.)

I guess I will try to find a full copy of the game. And I may hang around this forum for a while, seems like a nice place to chat. And i'm going to stop trying to crack it. Don't want to get arrested.

Nothing prevents you from buying the game for a measly $9.99 off Steam. It is what an honorable person will do.

It sucks that you only got the first level, how about trying out the Quake Shareware Setup Beta located on this very site! That should have the whole first episode, something like 7 levels total.

Nobody's going to tell you how to crack the shareware CD. This isn't that kind of site.

Do you know that you probably get the full game on eBay or off Steam for about the price of a beer or two? Legal, above board, no dodgy software on your PC, no opened ports, rootkits or keyloggers installed, and your liver will thank you for it.

When you install the shareware version you can unlock it AFTER you purchased a validation code, this was the shareware way. Qcrack is a keygen for Quake back in 1996 to fake a shareware key. Very old, very silly since you still need the other files, ie pak1.pak

I wouldn't recommend downloading cracking tools as many people tend to disguise trojans as such programs and you wouldn't want that!

Piracy is something we do not condone here! Stop asking how to crack your shareware software!

More then likely what you are trying to do won't work anyway. You are better off buying Quake for the small price of $9.99 off Steam or possibly Amazon!

We aren't software crackers, hackers here, we are Quake players, modders, mappers and programmers. We respect Quake and attempt to make Quake better! Not crack shareware Quake.

You're better off asking your question on a site that deals with that type of thing.
