    NPR Quake issue

    Hey gang,
I recently built another rig with the following specs:
    AMD 7850 dualcore
    GTX 460
    2gb ram
    Windows xp pro sp3
I copied my Quake folder with NPR Quake working from an old rig to the new rig
    Old rig specs:
    Pentium 4 3ghz single core
    Radeon x1650
    1gb ram
    Windows xp pro sp3

I'm using the following command line for the shortcut:
    C:\Quake\nprquake.exe -width 1024 -height 768 -bpp 32
This used to work fine on my old rig.
My rig has all the latest drivers for mobo, vid, etc
If I click on the shortcut now it goes to a black screen for a few seconds and then dumps back to the folder I have the shortcut placed in. It won't work from the exe either.

Anyone have any suggestions on what it might be??

    Thanks

    Rook.
Can I put these in the autoexec
    gl_max_size 2
    r_outline 2
    gl_greyscale 1
    gl_detail 1

as I can't get to the console because the game dumps me first
May I ask what kind of rig you're playing NPR on?
Thanks for trying to help guys!

ugh.. NPRQuake is kinda old and might not work properly on modern OS/drivers.
In Qrack, and probably others you can recreate this effect using these commands:

    gl_max_size 2
    r_outline 2
    gl_greyscale 1
    gl_detail 1

That wasn't it, so it must be driver related or...?

I'll try a fresh install and see if that works. I was also wondering about the audio drivers as that has screwed me in other games when I updated. What's interesting is that none of my other engines copied over have issues.
    Thanks

Have you tried a fresh install of Quake , and did you retain an identical folder structure? Change from Fat32 to NTFS? Copying the folder over for the most part works, long as the hardware doesn't change, and from what I read you've changed a whole lot of things.

    NPRQuake , awesome!
