Error message when starting quake 1

Well, i have this problem.

When i start quake, this error message appears:

Error: Couldnt set fullscreen DIB mode

How to fix this???

I googled your problem and found this at Sourceforge.net:

(Couldn't set fullscreen DIB mode error message)

Try using a different display frequency and resolution. Use e.g. "+set vid_displayfrequency 60 -width 640" as a command line option. If everything fails try "-current" as a command line option.
