I've built a map for quake one using gtkradiant 1.5, and tried compiling with a program called BSP. No matter what I do the map gives a hall of mirrors effect, and with gl_clear 1 its pitch black. I know how to build maps, most of my experience is in gtkradiant in quake 3. Could someone send a link to the latest map compile tools for vis, light, bsp.
I've made a quake one map before but was unable to make a large map because ill always get a visual bug effect in game although it compiles fine.
I thought maybe it was something like a leak so I boxed the map twice but still nothing
here is what I have now the .map:
dcxspeed.zip
Any help is appreciated!
If you could, make a simple box room with a sky that compiles fine as a example, or a link to a open source map
thanks

This is a version of the light program that supports coloured light. To make a light coloured, simply add a key "_color" with a value of R G B (between 0 and 1, IIRC).
There is also a version of the Vis program that supports multithreading for faster vistime. It's called WVis and I think the authors are Willem and Tuna.
HOM: Maybe there is a leak, or your map exceeds 4096 units on one side.
Edit: I just compiled your map file and I do not get any HOM, the map is probably fine. It's probably your tools or engine.Last edited by golden_boy; 12-15-2011, 06:59 PM.

Tools: The Homepage of Bengt Jardrup
Check this thread if you wanna use the inbuilt "build" menu in radiant!
Regarding the Hall of mirror effect maybe the Q1 tool tips can shed some light?
