I am really new to quake and I'd really love to know how to play Team Fortress 1 on a mac and how I can even get quake cause I cant find it anywhere.

I'm no MAC expert but I would imagine that once you have purchased Quake you could use the Mac version of ProQuake available for this site. The following link might help, ProQuake 4: The official continuation of ProQuake
