Hi. i was given a mod from a friend called Quake 2 weapons project (a quake 1 modification) I was wondering where I could find the source code for this mod. I've learned some QC and I'd like to (hopefully) make it even more fun. After I extracted the contents of the mod, I saw a source code folder. However, When I open it up, I only see a Progs.dat and a Proqcc decompiler, which isn't compatible with Windows 7. I also went to the official site that contains this game but it says "there was an error processing the download". Also, I believe the name of the maker was Kryten. So, what I'm asking is:
1. Is their a way to decompile the progs.dat? I've already used Frikdec, but it didn't work.
2. Is there a place you can download the mod WITH the source?
Thanks in advance!

He's probably talking about Kryten's page:
Kryten's Home page <- downloads are dead
UPDATE: Here it is, version 1.4, no source:
http://www.quakewiki.net/quake-1/mod...apons-project/
I have merged the files on Kryten's page, tested them with DirectQ and archived them using 7zip. Note the weapons are MDLs and they get distorted. All in all, they're pretty faithful to their Quake 2 counterparts.
@Baker: I guess I'm one of those people with strange abilities.Last edited by Chip; 03-15-2012, 11:37 AM.

If you have this dead link you should still post it.Originally posted by jastolze View PostWell, is there a qcc that works on windows 7? Also, I visited the mod site, but the downloads are down??? It's on inside3d.com, but it said there was an error processing the downloads...
A few people have an uncanny ability to retrieve things you wouldn't believe from archive.org.
No promises and I am NOT ones of those people with this strange ability. But if I see a link, I can ask one of them to check it out if I myself cannot help you.
(Did you ever get that one ZQuake engine-porting author to add those cvars for whatever portable device you were using? Just curious.)

jastolze,
The fteqcc compiler which comes as a part of Seven's small mod compilation has been said to work with windows 7.

Usually the only mods that decompile are ones compiled with the original qcc. The ones compiled with modified compilers like proqcc or frikqcc or such usually don't.
Find mod website?
