quake texture moding and other things

can someone tell me how to replace textures for quake? i would like to switch some things out, espectally the hud. any helpful imput would be appreciated.

depends the engine of use.
most modern engines allow u to just put in the replacement texture in the /id1/textures folder, like ibar.png
or if u want u can edit the gfx.wad file using something like FIMG.

hehe, well, it cant be that hard. there has to be some changes i can make that aren't too hard

it really is a dark art. Maybe if you learn you can teach me
