i need a zip file for this. every time i download a pk3 it dissipears in my download so i need a zip version! plz help!

I'd be more concerned with fixing disappearing downloads than trying to work around it.

Here is a thought. Maybe, just maybe for some whacky reason your computer thinks pk3's are system files. Open any window, click through tools/folder options/view, then scroll down to (and select) Show hidden files and folders. Click apply.

From there, go to your download location and see if your file exists. Files do not mysteriously disappear. If you download something, then it is on your computer, so if you can't see it (for whatever reason) it is hidden.

Changing the download extension won't fix your problem if my above guess is correct, cause as soon as you unzip the zip, the pk3 would be hidden.

Another potential cause may be your antivirus. I have no idea how to help you if that is the problem. I'm not even positive that an antivirus would/could silently put your downloads in "jail".

The only thing that I am positive about, is if you download something, it is downloaded. Meaning it IS on your computer, you just need to figure out what voodoo is stopping your from accessing it.

Wait, when you say your downloads disappear do you mean from the download location or from the lil window in the browser that shows recent downloads and current progress?

If it's the first thing, then you can try what I said in the other post.

If it's the other thing, step away from the computer and no one will get hurt.

Did you try to go directly to where you saved the file and see if it's there? Your lil browser thingy isn't worth 2 cents, bro. Never rely on things like that for accurate info.

If you go to the actual folder that you saved the file in and it is not there. I would recommend the "Show all hidden files/folders" thing from my first post. Unless of course you aren't running windows, in which case, I have no clue how to help you.

well, firefox has the option to automatically remove downloads from the downloads list once they are complete, and im sure its not the only browser which does. so you mightve turned that option on for the browser you're using without realizing?

he said it only happens for pk3 files. Which makes no sense, but regardless he should at least go to the actual download folder and check for the file.

Maybe, just maybe, PK3 files, are "hidden" on his computer and when he downloads one, as the download completes the "hidden" attribute is applied, stripping it from the download list.

I have no facts or proof of concept to share. I start with a problem and then attempt to follow "logic" to determine the source of the problem (after all I am a programmer). So, I could be 100% wrong, but you have to start somewhere before you can begin to exclude possibilities.

Regardless, his downloads are sitting right there waiting for him, he just needs to figure out how to make them visible. Un-"hidden"-ing them is a good start.

ok i found out it is .7z files that when i download alone (the only file) it will dissipear COMPLEATLY from my computer. i tried what you said but no go. i think all this would be much much easyier if they just put there .7z or pk3 file of qrp high in a zip and post it then do all this just for one download.

its .7z because the compression is huge. If it was a zip, it would take you a month to download it. Unless you are Splitterface. Apparently she can download 7000,0000 gigs a second.

ok great news! i tried a diffirant link on the site and it gave me an option to open as soon as it downloaded and i opened it in winzip and extracted and it works! thanx for your guys help! epecially you MadGypsy!
