  • Linux rcon script

I don't know if this is any use to anyone, but this is for anyone running a *nix who wants a terminal rcon app. I found this while looking for some sort of remote tool.

I've updated this guys wrapper script to use perl's readline module (so some sort of readline must be installed). I've also made it default to the 'old' Quake 1/2/3 setting and the default port is now 26000.

This means that there is now command history and also the arrow keys can be used in interactive mode, where before you'd get a bunch of control codes in the terminal.

It's all GPL'd open source so no worries about licensing.

    Hi SlackHead (haha)

I went to check about 'rcon' before so let me try to help... but don't get too exited since 'rcon' is very limited and these links might not be very helpful.
