Thought I might mention, for anyone that may have issues with this in the future...
If you're trying to link an image from google drive, do it like you normally would (get the shareable link and insert it within the [IMG] brackets) but replace "open?" with "uc?" in the shareable link.
Works like a charm. Even better is I don't have to dick with this ever again...like gypsy said, do you ever see google going out of business aside from the event of an apocalypse? Nah.
EDIT: sumbitch, just remembered/realized gypsy already detailed all of this. Oh well, now it's posted twice...so no excuses anyone. I don't wanna see a thread on how to do this anytime soon! lol

Alright, the model is back up and available for download on my Google Drive. Link in the original post has been updated. Working on pics now, sorry for any inconvenience y'all.
Let me know if there's any problems. The file should be set to open for everyone.

If your uploads are small (<5Mb, I think) and not private, there is also TinyUpload. No registration/login/password bullshit, just upload and copy/paste the link. Better keep the ways Google has to spy on you to a minimum IMO.

google drive doesn't give you a file counter for download/view hits but, I know how to fake one.
just go to https://goo.gl
paste your link
get and post the short link
now anytime you want to know how many clicks that link got just go back to https://goo.gl and the answer will be right there on the main page as long as you are logged into your google account when you do all of this.
Want to make a google drive link a direct download link?
example drive link
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6XOERakQukvSmNFMFE4R3lIbVE
change to
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B6XOERakQukvSmNFMFE4R3lIbVE&export=download
you can then take this link and shorten it for a direct download link with a click counter
There's always a way,...ya know?

Awesome, thanks for the replies. I already have a gmail so I'll probably check out google first (for some reason I never looked at this as an option...) but I'll check out drop box too, see which one I like better.

I like google drive cause it's 15gigs and it acts just like a drive... folders/sharing(off/on)/etc
plus....do you perceive google EVER going out of business or losing your files?

dropbox is also great. its a free file-host where your files never expire.
you get something like 4gb by default and can easily get more by 'referring people' to sign up with a code.
i use it for all my quake- and game-related files that i shared here at quakeone

Looks like my uploaded files expired...apparently FileFactory has a 90 day hosting limit if I don't pay (would have been nice to have known that before making a freaking account...bastards). Looks like the pictures stayed up, though? That's odd.
Either way, I'm not a fan of this file hoster. I'm going to re-upload it and fix the link, but does anyone have a suggestion for a decent file hosting site without paying for it? If I'm gonna pay for it, the money would be better spent buying my own domain and blowing the dust off my HTML/CSS book.
EDIT: Nevermind! I had JavaScript disabled. Couldn't access certain functions on FileFactory. All is well, carry on. Lol. But there is a 90 day expiration, which I may be quickly approaching...we'll seeLast edited by Dutch; 10-13-2016, 12:18 AM.
