The Final Descent is a little-known episode released by Mike Wilberforce (Hellscrag) back around March 23, 2000, and aside from new maps, includes a few new features like unique enemies and weapons. The problem was that the start map lacked any real-time light support in Darkplaces, and was completely pitch-black if played on full lighting. What initially started out as a simple lighting fix became a full-on modification to the mod to include new weapon and enemy models, textures, and sound effects, all to give a high-definition look to the episode while maintaining the original feel and gameplay. I simply compiled pre-existing textures that align with the original ones while adding some new custom content specifically for this enhancement. You can download it from here:
