actually metch, I have a lot already for id maps. the thing that bothered me most about those lits was the fact that there were spots without the color lit..it looked like somewhat of a mess. especially that big gap of no lit near the first slipgate on start for episode 1. I found that the best auto lit utility is most definitely MHLIGHT. the only downside about it is the fact that it changes the bsp, making it so its incompatible with mp. it would be really awesome if there was a version that didn't effect the bsp.

anyways getting back to you on mhlight, is it like a mapping tool, like aguire's treebsp and vis thing? so i would have to add it in for QuArK to get it to work right?

//and i stilldont know how to use that terrain gen. i got from Entar's Projects

nah you don't need quark, it relights the whole bsp and makes the lit. I wish there was a way it would only make a lit and not make a different bsp

Hey LnL, did you ever upload the .lit files for the ID maps? I'm curious how much better they are than the old ones I have!

Changed BSP? I don't think so... OK, there was an older version that did, but this new one snuck out earlier on this year, doesn't change the BSP, doesn't create a nightclub effect, and doesn't have random unlit spots. http://www.quaketastic.com/upload/fi...h_May_2009.zip

Yeah, those .lit files are a bit better for the original Quake maps. Thanks!

Does anyone have any .lit files for the Quake Mission packs? I've never been able to find any...

                          Did you just make these?

These are pretty good! Some of the red lights in the base areas of Hipnotic are a bit too saturated, but overall these are very nice.

This thread has given me quite a few new .lit files for use in Qrack!

mh, if you are reading this. I also thought it would be sweet if you can type in certain fb textures to be lit. like if I wanted a base map to have just the yellow and red light fb textures lit.

so all fb textures would be skipped, except for the following.

                            tech06_2
                            tlight07

Reading alright, but I'm not coding at the moment for reasons outlined on my latest blog post (spending 7 hours a day debugging legacy code in work doesn't make it easy to come home and do even more coding).
