I think my restrained comment on the DeviantArt page sums up my position on that model:
Just a passing, sporting remark to congratulate him for trying, I recall it going something like this:

HOLY FUCK!

That's just pure awesome!!!!

It'd be nice if he could get that lovely velvety lighting on the animated model into the game;
The model looks like living flesh!

Too bad in Darkplaces it adds that horrible plasticky sheen to it.

I know that darkplaces isn't perfect vanilla quake engine, but just look at this shambler and tell me it isn't the coolest - just try.

This happens when "Mama-Hellknight" falls in Love with "Papa-Shambler" !

They get a hell lot of babys like this one.

Its clearly inspired from Doom3 Hellknight.
But hey, that´s cool !
A really good monster.

Though I miss the white/grey fur a bit.

Ya I think it looks awesome in game. The feet look closer to the original compared to that doom3 remake. and when I fought him on e4m7 all I saw when shooting in the dark were those big ass teeth striking at me!! It kinda reminds me of a mutant land shark without the fur but that's cool!!
