Small Mod compilation

  • to Seven

    I'm make lite [link removed] SMC 4.25 (source - SMC 4.25 Seven).
    Last editing: source code only, thanks all))

    differents (main):
    1) remove "spyder", "new dog", "new zombie".
    2) backpack_*.wav change to standart (lock4.wav)
    (compability with EpiQuake sound pack and other soun packs)
    3) remove "weapons right hand"
    4) remove "new axe zombie"

    "progs.dat for DP builds 20130301 and latest" included in pk3 file;
    source "qc" folder included in pk3 file.

    Attention!
    Remove or backup you SMC and autoexec.cfg

    Maybe someone will need...[hell no!!!hahaha it's lie, I'm understand this]

      ATTACUE....THERE IS NOTHING BROKEN ABOUT THE SMC!
      so there is no need for any 'fixes'....

      what you call 'broken' are features which can be TURNED ON & OFF as desired by editing the autoexec....


      stop doing this shit and try READING READMES INCLUDED WITH STUFF!
      if you would for once do that you will know that these are features that are OPTIONAL
      and can be turned on and off as desired by simply editing the included autoexec.cfg with notepad
      .
      are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?

        i could never get it tp run right cose my computer is a p.o.s. i had to set it to normal quake jut to get my fps playable and i LOVE NIN so the new sound track was one of thows THATS NOT QUAKE for me

        PSS IM NOT NORMLEY AN ASSHOLE BUT COME ON ITS NOT A BROKEN AND IT DOSE NOT NEED TO BE FIXED
        but it is cool that you are making the code the way you like it maybe customized is a better word then fixed

              Let's just recap to make sure we are understanding you correctly:
              • It would appear that you want some of the functionality provided by Seven's excellent work but not all of it.
              • The main reason for this appears to be that you do not want a large file sitting on your hard disk
              • You are not saying that there is anything broken or faulty in SMC


              Is this correct?

              Although it does seem a bit of an extreme course of action to take, to edit an entire mod just for a few meg of disk space, perhaps you have an alterior motive for doing so (e.g. to gain further experience of Quake modding).

              It's great that you have taken an interest in the mod and are contributing to the community, but as an outsider looking in, the main remaining flashpoint to me seems to be that you keep referring to your chopped down version of this mod as a fix. This [understandably] is annoying people in that it appears to be untrue as it's difficult to fix something that isn't broken. Perhaps it a language thing but referring to it in this way could be perceived as something of a slight on the Mod.
              To diffuse things it may be beneficial to you to stop referring to your version as a "Fix" and use a term more suitable and factually correct such as a SMC "variant", "edit", "light" or something similar.

              I'm sure we all appreciate that sometimes it can be difficult in trying to get your true meaning across in something other than your own language and misunderstandings can easily creep in

                (I'm afraid because I'm not completely (perhaps) removed new zombie model, dog extended and zombie axe in source code)

                  Please be careful here. Do you mean that the original code provided by Seven has errors in it? or that the changes you have made have caused problems.

                  If you think about what it is that you are requesting, it seems you want Seven to do an unknown amount of work on your broken version of his working mod in order for you to save a few megabytes of disk space. I understand the whole mod is only around 240Mb
                  Seven's a very helpful and supportive guy and I'm sure will try to answer the occasional question or 2 but I'm not sure how many developers would be willing to do what you are asking. Especially when you consider that, if I am understanding Webangel and Talisa correctly, all the features you don't like can simply just be turned off.

                  Perhaps look at it another way, As your main problem seems to be is very limited disk space, would it not be easier to perhaps look at freeing up a few meg rather than reinvent and then have to bug fix the entire mod?
