  • Quake 64 Soundtrack

    Figured someone may want this.
I gathered these off youtube videos and ripped to mp3 then to OGG.
Nowhere near as great as Trent's work but it's a nice change - I swap between Trents, Sasha's (Sonic Mayhem - Methods of Destruction) and this.

Tracks are not named properly as there is more tracks in Q64 than in the PC version so you cannot match up the music to match every level.
Would like to see what tracks you use to represent the CD tracks (post your lists here) just to see what the best order would be.

Download n64 soundtrack.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

I have originals of these somewhere, ripped direct from a ROM of the cartridge. They're not actually full soundtracks but rather digitally synthesised things (like .mid files) of which a few are played in loops or shuffled around from time to time. Quite effective and atmospheric though.

And I thought no-one ever managed to get those out of the cartridge. Read that on some website once. Wicked.

      -> Quake - Nintendo 64 USF Music - Zophar's Domain

Now I just need to find out how I can play this on Linux and how to encode as Vorbis.

ooppee: The tracks on the Quake CD have no titles either...

        I meant named by "cdtrack002.ogg, cdtrack009.ogg" ect
Left them to be named by the user.

Hmm I could try and get those in vorbis too

          Found a way

Winamp plugin which allows you to play those files. Just use Winamp to export to wav and then to vorbis.

Winamp rings a bell, I think that's what I used to play them (it was quite a while ago). Can't even remember what I used to rip them though, I may have even written something myself based on a spec I found somewhere (or on the output of some other program). What I do remember is that it was horrible to do, and most of the tools you can download just didn't work.

If I can find them I'll put them up (so long as the Admins don't mind).

Tool I posted works for converting to wav.
No idea on how to rip from the cart though, whenever I did, I would replace sounds (to a null) or mute sounds via game menu and record that way.
Would be awesome if you could get the other remaining tracks, actually merging some of these with Trents sounds really good (blend it in with 25-50% volume)

I have them all and listening to them now. You need Winamp and the 64th note plugin to play them, but legally I'm not too certain what the position is.
