    Qung Fu Official WIP Thread

    Hello everyone this is a mod that MadGypsy and myself have been working on.
    It is called Qung Fu and consists of a completely remodeled Quake 1 player model, textured with the Quake 1 player skin and custom QC to do all the magic. MadGypsy does all the coding, I do the modeling and animation.

    I've made a few videos that I'd like to share of our work so far.

    I'm sure MadGypsy can explain the mod a bit better then I could since he's the one who made it.

    Here is a close up animation of some MOCAP data that has been added to the "todo" list. All animations might not be MOCAP quality but I'm going to try.

    Phen check Future vs Fantasy fighters classes might help!! Some are "body" oriented like the Ninja and the oGRE (not sure this one hehe).

    I guess this mod is as dead as the multiplayer scene lately.
    Back to my latest temp fix of
    Don't Starve.

    A fun diversion for a few months but hardly anything will ever compare to the fun we had with Q1.

    I definitely always felt the CQC could be improved in Quake.

    Real Quakers use axe right? So why not a mod based around CQC!

    I'm thinking of either slowing it down so it would be more of a Streets of Rage/street fighter/MK type fighting or a Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger type fighting.

    Honestly I'd prefer the slower more strategic CQC compared to basically low gravity jumping. I doubt ANY long range weapons will be introduced unless they're nerf'd so they won't be spammed... Who knows!

    New levels or "arenas" will have to be made with CQC in mind so the action stays focused obv but that comes later. First texturing then rigging,exporting,importing coding and testing has to be done.

    I plan to make more models for Qung Fu also btw.

    Thanks guys, I'm still trying to give him a "high'n'tight" haircut.

    Also I'm not to fond of the glove coloring and the whole model still needs to be optimized.

    Well I have an update coming soon!

    The model was given a face and a pair of hands.

    I've also made some tweaks to the mesh.

    Another video example soon to come.
