sometimes you need a coffee break

This was actually a monsterous pain in the ass to make. It seemed simple in my head. It wasn't simple. There is only one brush overlap - where the handle touches the mug. Other than that, the mug itself is a perfectly sealed bsp. All vertices fall on the grid and no brush is kicking out of shape. There is no point in going that far but, this is just brush practice. I could have made it even more ridiculous but, this was just supposed to take a coffee break. It took more like 2.

Alrighty, I'm done with making the world's most bad-ass bsp coffee cup. Time to get back to real projects

Looks tasty. It is hard to get a good, really HOT cup of java anymore.

Maybe you can add that model to a map you've made, since you already did the work for it.

It reminds me a bit of those 2 fire pits at the start of quake, when you choose your difficulty level, on the left and right as you just enter the game, if you know what i mean

This would be very cool to have in a map, I mean maybe you can try to walk around the edges and not fall in lol

I tell you what. I need a lil break. I'm going to go remake the coffee mug, turn it into a bsp and you can do whatever you want with the map and bsp files.

Extremely high precision geometry and texture placement. 3 walls were constructed in their entirety, then all 3 walls were duplicated 3 more times and each duplication rotated into place. The floor and the lava ceiling were then added mostly by hand. You can pick any chunk of the handle and we'll say I duplicated, rotated and manipulated it 2 times. The final step was fixing all the texture seams.

content of attachment is quakecup.map. Anybody can do whatever they want with this. Also, keep in mind that this is like 6 rangers tall.

I felt like I cheated on the handle.
