Maybe it has something to do with Doom only getting 12 FPS with everything on low settings at the lowest resolution?
I think it's time to upgrade.

Vulkan should alleviate any demand for upgrading to Windows 10. Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot by locking DX12 into Windows 10.
Technology is kinda like Scratch n Sniff for me.Want to get into playing Quake again? Click here for the Multiplayer-Startup kit! laissez bon temps rouler!

I've heard about Vulkan for some time but never did much digging up on it since I figured:
"I'm running a laptop from 2013, Vulkan would be as much use to me as coffee in a speed addiction convention".
But if I could squeeze another 10 FPS out of Doom without sacrificing e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g it'd be nicer... I bought the game to early and I was sort of forced to as I wasn't ready to upgrade my PC or get back into PC gaming much, but since my nerd bone started wiggling when I got a Optiplex desktop 745 which I can play with I'm interested in how far I can push the new PC.

I haven't read into it that much and don't know if it needs to built in at the hardware side too.
I ended up buying Doom on the PS4 and I wonder ,in time, if Sony will add Vulkan API support to their machines.
There was talk about it a while back with the PS4 containing AMD hardware.Username : Atomic Robokid on Steam

Considering that it helps Nvidia cards too, as long your gfx hardware still has driver updates, it might get some support for it in the future. Maybe.
