I think in the US, that would have played out somewhat differently.

I'm positive you are right cause I witnessed this exact thing on the streetcar tracks when I was about 10 years old. Long story short. "Put down the weapon and get on the ground!" 4 or 5 times followed by the dude getting shot in the leg, closed in on, his ass whooped and hauled to jail/hospital. New Orleans cops don't play. He's probably lucky he only got shot in the leg and his ass whooped.

When the cops shot him a small crowd cheered and some people were screaming "shoot him again!"

Britain is so disarmed that even most of their police officers don't have guns. It's kind of hilarious. USA #1 baybee *hugs firearms in a safe manner that abides by he 10 commandments of gun ownership*

For me, this video reminds me of the USA shortly before 9/11.

"All the great events happen twice. The first time it is a tragedy, the second time it is a farce."

I feel very badly about the terrorist attacks in Britain in back-to-back weeks.

As an outside observer, it does not look the UK government is doing a very good job of protecting its citizens.

The people in the UK should be very thankful that Theresa May called for early elections a while back and coincidentally that election is tomorrow.

The UK is an Orwellian police state with no free speech, no guns and a state run media. Most of Western Europe is like this and it is unfortunate. As an American it makes me appreciate my civil liberties much more (as we are one of the only truly "free" countries left in the world.)

Also I agree. Britain's corrupt government aside, it is a great nation and we should give them the best support we can in this dark hour.

"It absolutely is not! How absurd! In fact, it's the other way around! They love free speech! We should be more like them! Let's abandon the constitution and bow down before the queen!"

Every non-Brit I've talked to about the subject matter. Why are millennials so obsessed with the US becoming a EU-based socialist trainwreck? If this is what our protection against crime is going to be like, not to mention our media, right to arm and basic ability to voice opinion, how could this be perceived as a positive in anyway?

            YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT...

The millennial generation has been brainwashed by the corrupt academic institutions into believing these kinds of things (all globalist bullshit.) I have a buddy in the UK who I duel with often and he completely affirms that it's a nightmare (and if he said half the shit he says to Americans online in private chat rooms he would be arrested.)

I'm part of the younger generation. I'm studying my academic field of choice (English.)
              `
The only thing I've learned in school is that all white people should be hanged (and all sorts of racist shit by the same people who call everyone else a racist.) These stupid-ass hippies only care about borderline and sometimes literally communist literature (we EXTENSIVELY studied Allen Ginsburg who was a pedophile that identified as a communist and wrote works about how much he hated America.) They pervert Shakespeare (one of the most brilliant writers who ever lived) into whatever suits their agenda, and won't even bother to teach stuff like Tolstoy and I quote "because he's too boring. Nobody actually likes that stuff anyway!" Instead we're studying lyrics to abysmal punk rock bands that didn't have a pair to stand by half the shit they were saying because they were too busy living off of trust fund money.

And the students? They're all hardcore leftists that have literally come up to me and tried to argue for communism because they say that "real communism has never been tried." (Reminder that Communism has killed approximately 105 million people in the 20th century alone.) This shit is completely socially accepted too (and encouraged by professors.) We have the most diverse colleges in history, which isn't a bad thing, but the one thing that is most important is that we lack diversity of ideas. Anything that is remotely centrist or right is discarded and you are branded all these horrible things that I personally could never imagine feeling about someone else to begin with.

And regardless, even with living proof in these European nations these people are completely oblivious. Right now we live in a strange time period. I would be considered a liberal 10 years ago, but I'm considered far right now? This is strange. I'm a libertarian that believes in free market economics and I value my country more than my own life. Is there something wrong with this? How does this automatically mean I hate black people or mexicans or something (even though many people in my social group are black/mexican?)

These morons can't do anything but spew ad-hominems left and right and someone like me that just wants to live my life in peace can't even have a debate with good sportsmanship in it.

MAYBE is all about a historical cycle,
                    a simple quote:
"Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times."
the invasion has begun! hide your children, grab the guns, and pack sandwiches.

Interesting quote. Wealth is the destroyer of all things. The history repeating itself thing is annoying because we shouldn't need for history to repeat itself, yet it does all the time.

Obviously, is too simplistic, but you can do a comparative analysis with many empires in antiquity.
In the same way today with a country like China, through hard times has created a very strong population that is raising the economy of the country in an incredibly fast way. The same parallel (but much more "back" in the wheel is happening with India.
The rich west is going through the "good times" -> "weak men" stage. So if you can not find a way to avoid the future, we already know what can happen.
The analogy is simplistic, and one could make an analogy with the life of a plant, or flora in general, even in seasons:
                            Winter spring Summer Autumn

Anyway, I believe in the human capacity to overcome problems.Perhaps excessive consummism has weakened peoples, not wealth itself, But I am not a historian, I do not know what to say, things are always much more complex.
the invasion has begun! hide your children, grab the guns, and pack sandwiches.

I suggest the following book "The Poverty of Historicism" Karl Popper (1957):
