Hey,

I thought about making a list of AIM screennames to ppl could contact
each other easily for matches and so forth..

You can run AIM on any browser without any downloads - it runs in a new browser window.

If you don't have a screenname you can go to http://www.aim.com and click Launch Aim at the left (not Download AIM at right),then click Sign Up Now!

Here is the list of AIM screennames - if you want to add to this list you can quote it and add numbers for more screennames(their real quake names are in parentheses):

I'm confused now... everyone keeps going on about kimp, how he should be banned, yet when he comes back and makes a post about collecting contact info, people just hand it over? Should I stop wasting my time and banning his new accounts every time he re-registers or what?

i didnt even notice it said kimp by the post .

What you SHOULD do is a word count through every thread & topic ever made here that read's the word ' kimp ' .

then we can mark it as a statistic and label him ' most recognized ' player for the Quake family tree . . . close the book, and then all shut the fuck up .

Some of the CA players got resentful that their current players decided to leave them for a DM server. So they conspired against him... Kimp became a target, and was attacked at all angles to repress his efforts... they called him names, mocked him, and did everything they could to piss on his picnic. Some of the players who got to know him more interpersonally abused personal information and twisted it to suit selfish and vindictive impulses. This went on for a while.

Like any other human, there is a breaking point... Kimp, savvy in other subjects besides Quake, took his know-how and returned the repression back to the population that dished it out. A taste of their own medicine was more bitter than they could stand.

Soon there after, Kimp forgave the population, and has returned his gift of know-how and game organization back to that community. What's left is a handful of bitter, bruised, and spiteful bullies who had been beaten at their own game.

not sure i agree with the bolded part. most people that play CA are also DM'ers. those of us that are hardcore CA only guys, only need a handful of people (which there always is) to play with to stay content.

i like how you conveniently left out the part of kimp ruining games when he didn't get his way. from my understanding, his actions weren't isolated retaliations against anti-kimp CA'ers, he did it to the DM'ers as well. this is what caused all of this to begin with, regardless of "who started it". change just one thing in all of this and the entire inconvenience for all parties never happens.

what change is that, you ask? kimp sucks it up and takes it like a big-boy when he doesn't get his way (like every other grown adult has had to learn to do). *poof* - no issues.

The hatred to Kimp, is because he connected to servers and acted like a little kid. The KIMP-hunt and crap thereafter that has flooded the forums, is a greater detriment than anything Kimp has done. So, which is worse a pile of shit, or people throwing it...

Let's revisit the days, back when Kimp WAS an issue.

Kimp would come into a server, as he does now, to try and recruit players for a match. Hit or miss, people would follow him back to the hosting sever for a game.
