Damn that's a nice bike BA, $6000!
Bluntz, that's about what I had when i was 6. Ol' Schwinn Stingray.
Hehe yes I admit that is exactly why I have this,I missed mine too.
I had a 69 stingray with a 5 speed hub with a suicide shift. I found all the mountain bikes I tried to be missing something. The beachcomber has held up well for 10 years now.
I used to taco MB scoots in less than a year average. The steel is a bit heavy but holds up better as long as I keep it on the ground.Paid 600$ for it back then..

2004 Jamis Dakar XLT 3.0
SRam x7 Derailleur, Shimano XT Brakes, Manitau 1 minute front shock, Fox Talus rear shock. Aluminum though - a bit heavy for you carbon lovers
I picked this up last year though, been doing more road lately (going for 55 tomorrow)
My first ride was just like this one.w/o the derailleur.it was a 5 speed and had a short sissy bar with a backrest also the suicide shift with ape hangers.
But the ride I miss the most was my BigWheel.Looks like I am not the only one.
