r_bloom 0 should help to reduce any glowing edges but there is an option within the graphic setup of Qrack to turn off certain lights. Unfortunately I'm not on a PC with Quake so I can't tell you the exact name at the moment. Maybe the mighty R00k or the weighty Peg can jump in here.


edit: It might be either Dynamic lights and/or coloured lights.

I'm just chilling in a little shitsplat town called San Angelo for the time being, but I'm moving back to Florida in a couple months. Bikinis and big boobs here I come!

I showed up for a bit for ctf last night. I played one game and did pretty terrible lol. I take it there isn't a popular turbo-ctf/scrag server anymore? Those were the best. I installed Qrack but I keep getting this error that says "couldn't load gfx.wad". If you have any idea wtf that means I'd love to know.

Edit: Ok I'm stupid, I forgot about the Id1 folder, but now it's up and running.

Edit again: who knows how to get rid of the glow stuff? Like the red glow near lava or the green glow near slime. Way too many lighting effects!

You can get all the maps you need on www.quakeone.com/maps , exe's , so they just run and bam you're ready to go.

Hehe yeah the fisherman, that was me! God that was so much fun. What's happening Chad? I looked on the server list and didn't see any capture the scrag servers displayed ... I also tried to connect to the hdz server but kept getting a host keepalive error. Bad client maybe? I'm still using Proquake from way back when.

There's a number of CA/RA/CTF (inc. Headhunters, Capture the Scrag) servers in the states plus Psuedo DM at Bigfoot.quake1.net and flanders.servegame.org in europe. For more info click the 'Servers' link at the top of this page. Some of the most well patronised servers are summarised on the top right of the home page of this site. Hope this helps
