You encountered the NAT issue in original Quake.Originally posted by NeRMe View PostAhh, all I needed to do is type "ping" in the console after connection, and it works just fine...
You must be using GLQuake or some old client.
You really should upgrade to Qrack, ProQuake 3.99 or DarkPlaces.
First, because ProQuake/Qrack/DarkPlaces are NAT fixed. Second because they have a ton of enhanced functionality and bug fixes you aren't benefiting from. Loc support for starters.

yah, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the HDZ box itself, but with the links to the box. oh, and ramp, did you really think you could hide from me?

pulsegate is 7 hops from my machine, while hdz is over 12, despite the workload of the hdz box, chicago is a better game for me. Not sure why since i used to ping sub 50 at hdz!

Does anyone have a link to a good .cfg?
How about a link to something describing all the custom commands and impulses that 3wctf uses?
It's been awhile.

Crap! I missed it. I fell asleep on the couch after dinner, only to wake up and go straight to bed
I didnt wanna force a game outta me since it would have been grueling and my team would've suffered too. But there's always tonight!
On a side note, we could also play a few warmup games at rage.quakeone.com. I've been (with much support from PowerZord), trying to get people aware of "speedball" on rage. It's a mix of ca/ctf/rugby. It plays nicely on CTF8 or any small ctf map. Object of the game is grab the ball and carry it to the ENEMY's goal, and touch their gold post. Pent = RED GOAL, Quad = Blue goal. But you must wield the AXE to carry the ball. So it is a very dynamic team-based mod. Something fast paced to get us going to play real ctf

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed playing CTF this past Saturday night with those who were there. That was fun, thanks.

Its a netQuake ctf server, not QuakeWorld, try installing FTE or ZQuake and use the /nqconnect command.
