  • Rook crctf mod

    For some reason...your mod crashes when we put it on practice mode. it states some type of socket error


    also.. i still cannot get those maps to work on my server (I even tried to put them in the custom maps and it wouldnt work). Any ideas.


    my cmd line is -condebug -game crctf -dedicated 12 -iplog -zone 1024 –port 26000

    and i think it started crashing when i went from zone 512 to zone 1024

      Hmm weird, its the same mod running at HDZ.

      Do you have a console.log?

      btw here's a sample

      c:\quake\wqpro.exe -dedicated 16 -game crctf -mem 32 -condebug crctf%d.log

      the actual crctf%d will create numerical log files (crctf1.log etc..), otherwise each time the server crashes it overwrites the old log.

      A socket error is called by the server; this error isn't produced by the mod.
      So, it maybe a setting or something else. A log should help point me towards a solution. maybe adding -ip parameter with your server's ip address may help?

        the log was overwritten, but I will try to recreate it.

              the read error is in the server, in function Datagram_GetMessage, so either its your connection, or the server.
              Try pq 3.50 as the host server see if it happens also.

                for the practice mode thingy.. it runs for about 10 seconds in practice mode then states "loading" then crashes. It acts like it is trying to load a map.

                Also.. is there anyway to add the xeno maps to the selection?

                  I tested it locally and no probs. I'll have to link u to my pq3.50 with anti-wallhack. it maybe a pq4.0 issue. it might be a config issue.
                  I can even dig down and make a total ctf server, maps, ctf all in 1 torrent if time permits.

                  Honestly im working on a DarkPlaces version of CRCTF.
                  For thoughs who dont know, DP if anything can handle client-side prediction and server-side. So imagine running a netQuake mod and looking and feeling better than Quake3.

                      proquake 3.50 does the same thing.. errors at in practice mod and i think classic mode. works perfect for match mode (which is all i care about really). I turned off mode voting to prevent it from crashing while I am away (kimp).

                      good news is.. maps work now!!

                        also is it possible to add more maps to the selection?

                        xeno and other thunderwalker maps?

                        custom can only hold a few.

                          yes, i have all ctf maps made in the warp list
                          plus u can add 10 custom maps too.
