  • Setting Up Game Night Schedules

    I was speaking with wicked_lord about setting up a game night schedule for the Kleshik Coop server and I thought to myself, that is something we should do for all the mods/game modes we play regularly! So for instance Monday night madness CRMOD, Tuesday Fright Night COOP Jam, Wednesday Axe and CAx Rumble, etc. Or could do one community play night and have a vote on what should be played that session. Could be a really great way to get community members together for some good gaming and also some good chatting. We could chat in game or stop by an IRC channel pre-game and post-game for some chats, make a few demos and post the results on the forums! Maybe even put the vids up on youtube on an official Quakeone.com account or something if you have one. Anyway, just thinking of ways to get the community together in a big group. Hell with DP (I know, I worship DP) you can play like 64 players or something so we wouldn't necessarily be limited in terms of how many could play depending on the mod and engine we use. Would love to hear your thoughts and if you have already done something like this before let me know what the results were. I'm kinda new here. A quick look at the forum search didn't yield much mention.

    I also thought this would be a great way to continue meeting everyone here at the forum! So many I have chatted with on here that are very talented and so many more to meet. What better way to meet someone than in the arena?

    As wicked will attest, I am not much of a Quaker myself but man do I love to die well. Just my two cents. Cheers Oh and I am a quake single player fanatic so anyone that wants to have a Kleshik coop session please message me! I suck at it hard but my god its so intense and thrilling to play! I'm not much for Rquake but I will certainly do it! Even vanilla is fine! I also just found this mod called Cranked! Thanks to Ranger Shout out to him. It's actually quite nice and the code for z axis aware is pretty interesting as it take into acoount gravity in calculating it's aim so even if you change gravity the ogre and zombie will still be "mostly" accurate.

    Comments, Suggestions, etc. please! Quake ON!

    As an aside: Maybe set up a Mumble/Teamspeak server for members to join for development sessions, set up game sessions easily, etc. Just an extra cent to think about.

            I am in the works to set up a sort of calendar system for players, in order to achieve this, but I am approximately 0% done with this. I'm thinking of using google calendars, since it's what my local board game store uses for its website, but I have yet to look into this.

                  ROFL!!

                  How big's your quake collection folder? I'm clocking in at ;

                  17.6 GB (18,923,918,259 bytes)

                  7,061 Files, 348 Folders

                  It should be noted, when it comes to Quake downloads, I hoard everything!

                    I have a folder (now days it's actually a separated disk drive) which I call games and where I put all my games installation folders. The previously mentioned 20 folders, are located in this drive and they totals for around 38 GB of data.

                    But this is not even close to everything Quake related I was able to gather in all this years. I also have a collection of approximately 90 GB of downloaded material plus over 50 GB of all kinds of Quake movies.

                      I'm trying to do this with the european players at the moment, just waiting on a reply from someone

                      I'm guessing this is for North American players (or people outside who can actually ping to it ;P)
