    The Clan-Willing Pool

April 10th, 2007 I revised this "wanting to join a clan" post.

It's simple, want to join a clan and take part in clan-matches/scrimmages in Quake 1? Here is the place to start !

First you will need Quake1 ,If you have problems of any sort,PM me here at quakeone.com
Second you will need a form of an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client. ( mIRC or IceChat are clients I recommend.

Once you've downloaded an IRC client , open it up and type :

    /server irc.gamesurge.net , you'll see a scrolling screen in the console.

/join #quakeone <-- is how you join a channel , below is a reference of channels on GameSurge IRC you will find handy, including clan channels. You can join a clan by asking in-game,but it probably wont work out very well.If they are in-game, they are playing quake more than likely, and might become annoyed by being asked to join their clan while they are trying to focus on killing the opposition haha

    #quake1

    #clan_kp
    #clan_i
    #doom
    #clan_hdz
    #bizarroteam
    #clan_ufc
    #icons_of_vanity
    #intensity
    #QJ
    #iov

Some clans are more willing to accept members than others, dont be discouraged if any of them turn you away. If you need any further help, PM me here at quakeone.com , I may even help you get a clan going (helping you obtain members from the non-clanned community)

ps : you can register your name at IRC.GAMESURGE.NET at www.gamesurge.net

This post will be obsolete soon, and I will be replacing it with a different approach to "Organized Competition" inside NetQuake multiplayer. I have taken it off the TOPPED list, and I am now going to let it wither and fade away.....

I clanned with krazee at ihoc , thats where I originally joined Inf, and yea it was long long ago. I also started to dabble in CA around that time.

It used to be accompanied by the song "American Idiot" by Greenday, but youtube has this knack for gaying shit up. Mostly because AMG didnt approve of its use, oi!

Oh, yes, same thing as our StrafeLeft and StrafeRight in UT. Can't live without it.

In UT99 we have the simple dodge. A quick sidestep like in boxing etc.

In UT2004 there even was a Dodge-Jump. Not very realistic so to say, but boy did it bring you far away in a second. You dodge and also jump at the same time. Made you almost fly.

I don't know why UT99 has survived for so long. I must be the launch and jump features in the Assault mod.
With Friendly Fire set to zero you can use the effect from rox to shoot fellow teammates far away and even glide and bounche on surfaces.
The Impact Hammer (categorised as a weapon) can fully loaded easily kill enemies with in 1 shot/impact. But you can also use it to jump with. It takes 46 of 100 total to do so, but it can bring you over smaller hindrances and even carry you up to windows in some areas.

Quake is the simple and basic stuff. No fancy moves (except the rocket jump) as far as I remember.
