I kinda really like the Quakeguy being more visible in this one than in the current one. Just the level background sucks.
edit: Actually screw that, I think the entire logo design (including Quakeguy) is a lot better than what we have now. Bigger logo + Quakeguy = win.
That is something that I can feel I would enjoy investing some time into... fresh QuakeOne.com banners.
ProQuake,DirectQ,Qrack,& DarkPlaces flavored banners would be nice.
Maybe factoid's about the content being displayed in the current banner could be presented somehow when you hover over the banner...
like, if a Reforged monster is displayed in the banner, that particular banner could have factoids about reforged,who it involved, what engine...........ETC
I would definitely end up focusing on multiplayer 'scenes' with the various modern online clients that are either at our disposal or that we use.... moments of multiplayer Q1 chaos locked into a singleframe QuakeOne.com banner.....
Sole would just have to give details (again) about what the image dimensions need to be, and do I need to mirror the image like the current one , or is that handled via code?
Not sure how well this would work on the site. I guess I can do a better one sometime when I'm less tired. I could also make one with vanilla Quake level screenshots (this one is Rune of Earth Magic.)
I don't have many good pictures of Quakeguy or monsters.
Edit: If someone sends me some multiplayer screenshots, preferably without HUD, weapon, crosshair and text in them, I can assemble those too. I can also easily change the size or placement of the logo.
