its a trick. I learned my self how to use occlusion map with engines which doesn't support it. You can read about it in the couple last posts.

Those models are excellent! It would be nice to be able to use them. Keep updates coming. Any projection on possible completion yet?

Well, personally I think it was a little bit too dark (Doom 3-ish dark) I didn't like that one. Also the video already gave me motion sickness, while original Quake II doesn't, wonder if the actual gameplay on the engine will too

Hmmm. I don't se any negative comments...were they removed?

At any rate, stay focused on what makes you happy in creating. There will always be haters. Ignore them, they're not worth it.

Textures and lighting look very dark and moody which I like. Looks very good!

Thanks for posting the vid and keep us up on the progress. I'm thrilled to have all my Quake games looking updated now!

Glass looks very good as well!!

I guess the dust can make sense since there was the bitterman craft crash right there. Glass effect looks much better and more realistic with less distortion. Of course who's to say what's "correct" on an alien planet. We are talking personal taste that's all. How about a new vid showing the new stuff off.

    looks emissive, and thus wrong.
also, that's *really* poor quality glass. how old is it? 200 years? shiesh. the distortion is a cool effect, but its too extreeme for it to be believable, unless of course if someone's held a blowtorch to it and melted parts of it, which would be a strange thing for someone to do.

You can help me with some fresh ideas for character skins if you want. Every character skin will be made using 3dmax 2012 and MB 2013. I will show u in the time how to import a md2 model to 3dmax and how to export the model with a new uv without destoing the anims.

    Stay up to date.

right on man, i always had a feeling some day... someone would eventually do the finishing touches to Quake 2 , it will finally actually have eye candy worth the wait
