    These are 4 different maps shown on the screenshots. The reason why the project is on-hold is because at certain point I had to stop working on each of the maps, because of some limitation. Mapping for Hexen 2 really is not rewarding and it slipped from fun to annoying chore.

    The first, main map, the castle, is quite big and open compared to Hexen 2 standards, I had to stop because of BSP limit we discussed here some time ago. It is finishable, with some compromises here and there, but there is other thing that stops me and that is texture manipulation of Quark map editor. With tools available you either will have every texture misaligned or the other choice, all the brushes misaligned. It was bad editor choice on my side. The texture problem is the reason I also stopped working on the other maps, too.

    There are other problems/bugs with Hexen 2, which kills my motivation, like legendary buggy AI of this game, which makes enemy stuck behind every obstacle, etc... Pity Activision came into the way and this potential masterpiece of the series was never finished.

    It is great to see people working on Hexen 2.
    Your screenshots look really nice. You should definitely continue your project Mathuzzz.
    Many of your screenshot shows some dark and spooky ambience.
    I like this.

    Anyone else have problems with jshexen having a real bad screen flicker?

    I finally figured out how to navigate the settings so I could turn off bloom, etc to make it run smoother, but I still have a real bad flicker issue.

    Very similar to the one I used to have with dark places and Hammer of Thyrion mentioned here:

    HoT is a great engine but afaik there is no out of the box replacemant texture support, so....!?
    The most stable/tweaked H2 engine I know is jeanks and fte of course.

    P.S. I leave this planet, sorry continent for some weaks, so I cant answer your further questions.

    Jshexxen and fteqw both look very nice, but js has some graphical glitches for me and they both are a bit too cpu intensive for my laptop.

    Hammer of thyrion works though and is what I have been using.

    btw, is there a way to use the nice textures with hammer of thyrion? I tried looking in the readme but couldn't find anything.

    Hello Legend,

    Do not worry, the files that inkub0 linked are the files you can download from the previous page. He didn’t make them.
    You maybe have confused them with Hexen2 .rtlight files that inkub0 started doing with modified map files in DP. He only did 1-2 maps until we encountered an issue to not be able to convert more maps into Quake format.
    As far as I know he didnt use FTE for creating Hexen2 .rtlight files for some reason.
    Even though FTE has a nice csqc builtin for it. Comparable to DP´s rtlight builtin.

    That being said, if you want the highest replacement content amount as possible for your Hexen2, and thus very even/uniform visual, you have to download jeank´s Hexen2 pack (link is also in 1st post of this thread).
    It has external original music files, .lit files, many model skins, world textures and so on...
    Jeank paid high attention to be faithful, that is why I love his compilation.
    If you prefer inkub0´s replacement world textures, which are not very faithful but photorealistic, you can simply exchange them inside jeanks compilation.
    FTE and jeank´s improved jshexen2 engines will both be able to use both packs without an issue.

    thanks for the files Seven, my nickname is made by Toxin in reverse with 1 changed letter... the first time i used it, was in Dark Age of Camelot mmorpg, i had a Cabalist called toxin using magic poison dot (matter manipulation)

    i wanted to create a stealth character, using the infiltrator class, infiltrator was a melee type with stealth ability, critical strike attacks to be used as an attack opener from stealth, or on evade, and mundane poisons, i usually used 1 which slow movement and stops life regeneration, and a damage over time poison, attacking with 2 swords...

    since i couldnt use toxin again, as a nickname, i made it reverse, and changed t with s
