Quake seems to be assembled from the assets of two different games: a fantasy/medieval game and a sci-fi game. You've got ogres and knights in plate armor alongside space marines with energy weapons. The maps also alternate between sci-fi tech and medieval wood/stone. It still seems weird to me, and I never felt that way about Doom.
That's somehow the reason why I like Quake better. For me it always felt a bit dream like and surreal. It has a very unique and nightmareish atmosphere that I like.

To me, it is really hard to point out which game is better. It's kinda like comparing an apple to an orange... It's kinda like comparing an alternative rock band to a heavy metal band... Both games are very different. But from a basic FPS perspective, I liked Quake a little bit more than Doom. I loved the movements in Quake (Quake had so much space for jumping, aiming, and dodging). For a 90's game, Quake was very complete. It was good for both singleplaying and multiplaying. Doom had some great features, don't get me wrong. But there's something about Quake that seems very addictive... There's something magical about Quake.

Doom has a fairly consistent theme throughout, which I don't get as much from Quake. Quake seems to be assembled from the assets of two different games: a fantasy/medieval game and a sci-fi game. Doom is slightly more favored than Quake. I really like the hellish theme, and it was more complete in conveying that atmosphere.
Quake, although great, lacked some of the smaller details.

Naw, I like the old authentic look. I use risen3d for HD Doom.

With regards to copyright, I'll let Id and the moderators of this forum deal with it and not share what I have already downloaded. This issue is too touchy for me.

    yeah i agree wtih seven...

and another thing i find quite funny is that this person turned the models into sprites.
skulltag and GZdoom support using models too, so he couldve just converted the models instead. this just looks like shit imo, that he converted doom3 models into sprites
and it was a complete waste of time since he couldve just used the models
