    Thought this looked pretty cool

Interceptor (the guys who were doing Duke3D reloaded before Gearbox basically shut them down) are doing a remake of Rise of the Triad

    Here's the ROTT remix song

    Hi Splitterface,
version 1.64 supports 1920x1080 in widescreen mode.
The Doom Models doesnīt fit you are right - but you donīt have to use them.

    This was just a suggestion...

yeah i know that sourceport, but personally i am not to fond of it.

first of all its chockfull of bugs which are game-breaking, like mouselook not working correctly and textures being messed up and stuff like that.
and yeah the 3d-models support is nice, but its a shame the only model-pack there is for it is a test-pack which contains models taken from doomsday, which completely ruin the game for me cuz the models dont look like the rott sprites at all and such

and it doesnt support all resolutions, only 4x3 resolutions up to max of 1280x1024 which is a true shame

but as soon as they fix those things and someone makes models for rott items id love to use that sourceport. but for now its way to much filled with bugs and such imo

so personally i think using dosbox to play it is way nicer and by far the best method,
exactly like how it originally was without bugs or such

of course you can play the original rott on a modern computer, just use dosbox
DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS
... or try it with Birgers WinRottGL.

    Oh jeepers!

I remember dosbox although I don't have the original ROTT anymore but its a nice thought

I remember playing this, Duke Nukem, DooM, Heretic and Hexen over modems with friends (On my little 14-4 modem....awwww ). We used to take turns calling eachother as there was no netplay support. Then Quake hit the scene and you could play online! OMG!

The gaming world moved on and Quake clans formed, team DM and CTF. I remember saving up and buying the first Voodoo 3DFX card (Diamond Monster 3D with 4 meg of ram) which I used in tandem with my Matrox Mystique 4 meg card (Oooooh the power :p ). Good golly......I have a phone more powerful than my early gaming pooters The game came alive when running GL and I felt that this was a huge jump in gaming but it took a while to have a pooter capable of running GL Quake smoothly and online. I eventually got ISDN 128K (2x 64K lines in tandem) and could play smooth lag free Quake at a high frame rate (although I went through various motherboard/CPU/Ram/VGA changes too (All the Voodoo cards and an early SLI Setup with 2 12 meg Voodoo 2's and a Herculese Velocity Riva TNT card followed by a Voodoo 3).

Now i'm Running Nvidia cards in SLI (Funny how that works.....old ideas being redone )

cg_memorylane_0 Above was set to 1

Thanks again Splitterface for the link

I loved Rise of the triads!

Can you still get the original and will it play on Vista/Win 7 (Oh or XP as I have machines running all)?

Remake looks good but I wonder how it will play compared to the original?

yeah me too. if the game will be just as awesome as the clip looks itll be totally epic

seeing they're gonna do a remake of ROTT got me wanting to play the original all over again. i completely forgot how totally epic fun it was

hope they'll also implent that idea that apogee had but cut out in the original, to implent female versions of all enemies and have the engine at random pick which one will appear, that would rock

I'm sorry, but when did fighting enemies that are of the human race suddenly become Call of Duty?

This was originally going to be a sequel to wolfenstein. CoD didn't invent WW2, or shooting people instead of monsters

I still have the original Box somewhere...liked it a lot back in the days but tried it out last year (there are Open GL engines available) but i didn't get "fixed on" again.

ya, I thought this looked cool. I like how it's more of a remake than a reboot. I like the old school game play with new visuals.

sweet, that vid looks cool. i always loved those crazy weapons from ROTT and the overdone gore, which come back in the clip
me like, if they're putting this through id totally want it.

what about copyright issues though? wont they end up running into the same copyright issues as with duke3d reloaded?
i dunno who/what/where is up with the copyrights of ROTT, if its still copyrighted or not and such?
