@cobalt - I'm pretty sure QIN was safe to skip on the "self recognition" front. Actually, if you read the reviews, it doesn't matter what my reason is cause, there are lots of reasons.

@ fans of me (I'm not implying there are any) - I'm totally approachable here in a variety of ways, and there is no need to "want an autograph". I don't think it had anything to do with fanaticism, though. Just excitable people, excited about things which I don't find all that exciting.

The church thing was more of a metaphor than a walk down memory lane. I'm not scarred by the experience...lol. I grew up in a fundamentalist environment. Church wasn't scary to me, It was annoying.

Thank you. Its bad enough it actually happend the way it did, but I have had to explain it all in detail way too many times , and each time I do, I relive it like its yesterday. The fact it was smoking that caused the whole thing, and that every time I see someone smoking is bad enough I have to relive it that many times more. Im still not out of the woods yet with it, but Mindz example def gives me some much needed hope that someday I will see closure on it.

For today, its def one of the better days I have had.

My perspective is this. Mark seemed like he had a few control issues. Pretty sure I read a post by him some time ago about how he wanted to be the biggest name in Quake1, the most rep, the most posts, the most friends, blah blah blah. He even requested to add me as a friend without even speaking to me prior. I got the feeling that, even if I had accepted his request, he probably would continue to ignore me and simply treat me like another one of his numbers. No thanks. Since then I've mostly ignored him until recently, when I saw his QIN thing. I thought maybe he had a good idea until I read the breakdown. CEO? President, vice president? Dude, it's a game. I work for Walmart, I already have like 5 CEOs I have to worry about...so I continued to ignore. I wasn't invited anyway, so I chalked it off as another elitests club like pentstools. Now, here we are.

Well its been a while, and I am rereading what I wrote in this thread, as I have rejoined q1n recently. Not sure if anyone is curious why, but Mark did express his regret at what happened with me that made me leave. There have been changes also to the structure that was once in place, so the chances of something happening again like happened to me are much much lower, so in the end I believe my complaint was understood and acted upon, though it took some time, I think the restructuring changes are at least an recognition that Mark does listen, and can and will change things.

On the issue of the email as spam, I told him I do agree with the unsolicited emails as complaints, and that most likely would have to be something he works on to understand better if there is to be ever any condusive relationship on Quakeone.com and quakeone.net again. Time will tell if that can ever be mended, but for today I am just trying to keep it simple and let people know Im back in and I am gonna try to take this opportunity to let it be known that with me back and the issue was resolved, Im more motivated to let others know of the experience, and that more then likely I will be promoting my TBC mod there on a regular basis for those who may be interested.

I guess if there was to be a relationship between that and this, that would first have to stop using the Quake One name misleadingly.
