-Setup an Administrator account! (don't use it!)
-Setup an Herb account! (or anything really, just make sure it does not have administrator access.

That's just the easiest way for you to commence tinkering with your Windows while mostly staying safe.

Install some type of Messenger program ( https://www.pidgin.im/ ) , ask me. I got plenty of methods for contact , can only blame yourself if you don't look before you leap.

I use Opera. Also, you need to be careful what you click on. Email, websites, etc. Just because it says download here doesn't make it appropriate. One of the reason I use ad blockers isn't because I am anti_capitalist. Its simply because many of them are deceptive and you can easily download some malware, trojanware, ransomeware, etc. So its just not worth it to me. So I often utilize a good ad blocker. Also I use https everywhere to help ensure I am on a "secured" website. I also use ghostery for added protection. Noscript is also helpful for firefox but it will block legit things so use with caution and you'll probably need to make exceptions.

Also be careful what sites you visit. Downloading ebooks, movies, and shit is dangerous if you aren't cautions. Also be sure to have backups of your system run atleast weekly so you can easily roll back quickly. For instance, if you get a cryptowall ransomware you'll be out of luck without a good backup.

Try to also to make sure you have good group policy measurements to protect you from certain programs installing themselves in the background.
