Hi, I'm just a foreigner that has a YouTube channel, and plays classic games like Doom, Heretic, and soon, Quake, some newschool games etc. I want an intro for my future videos from now on, after purchasing a new PC.
So what do I want on this intro? Nothing really special, I want a Shambler hollering then coming towards the viewer then striking lightning, then the screen flashing to white then fading to my channel name (TheShamblerKing). It may be a bit time consuming, but you will achieve my gratitude and respect from others here for your artwork. Or I could do it myself IF there is a gif with the details I mentioned here.
Thanks, and have a good day.

I can recommend PakScape over PakXplorer. I can't remember what the issue was but one cropped up when I wanted to go poking around pak files.Originally posted by Phenom View PostThank R00k!
I took the easy route (for me) in doing this...
I know the "official" way would be to just load up the startmap in an editor, put a Shambler in and script the whole scene but that would have took ME considerably longer then creating a composite video of the elements mimicking what I wanted to achieve.
While I'm not happy with the result, it is basically what the guy/girl? asked for and I just wanted to show that it could be done quite simple in many ways.
The thing that took the longest was tracking down PakExplorer... The link in QuakeOone.com's is broken.
I just created work for myself!!!

Here's something I whipped up in 2 hours without really trying...
There are obvious issues with this scene but like I stated above, I wasn't really trying to waste much time on something I more than likely won't be getting paid for.
The lightning attack is a bit of a lack luster but I also hope you don't expect triple A quality from a random person on a random post on a random forum.
If there's something in it for me I may do a little extra work and make this better.

For this I used Blender3D to create a pseudo "start map" scene and the actual Shambler model ripped directly from the PROGS folder from Quake 1. Everything was loaded into Blender and positioned to appear as if the Shambler is walking towards the camera, but in reality the Shambler is being scaled to appear as if the scene has depth and slightly moved down when the Shambler hits the ramp.
The "level"/or/"map" is nothing more than a AVI file which I created using DarkPlaces capture commands and the resulting AVI was textured to a plane in Blender3D. So the whole video is composite. and no real in-game footage, coding/scripting was used.
It's basically a very short Pixar film

Pretty close, but thanks anyway. Yeah sorry for asking random work to be done.

Imgur: Video to GIF
That alone should set you off in the direction you want.
Here is an image that I created a few days ago.

I should note, we normally don't get people showing up randomly requesting work be done for random people, doesn't mean that it can't happen, its just very unlikely.
