    Demo Recording too Slow

I'm trying to record some demos, but while recording the game is really slow for some reason. Is this normal? Kind of defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do. It's slow as in I have a really bad framerate while recording kind of slow, not the demo itself being slow. I'm using the latest build of FTEQW. Any help would be appreciated.

^ Zop is probably on the money, it is possibly outputting avi or some other direct to video format. That would explain the slowdown,if its being encoded on the fly.

Normally, recording a demo is way easy for Quake, since the video output is not recorded. It is hard to think of a way that a slowdown would be by recording such a demo. My guess is that FTE has some recording options in the console to fiddle with. Does FTE output a .dem file when you use it?

It works in Darkpalces, but I wanted to use a QuakeWorld sourceport.
