  • New here. Where can I find this map?

    Hi. Quakeone.com welcomes me

My question is a simple one.

What is the name of the map that is completely checkered (like a chess board)

It has ramps leading to other checkered rooms. And it is quite colorful.

I was told by a player online (likely a member here) that I would find my answer on this forum.

    Please Advise

The only ID Quake map that I can think of with that kind of floor is DM5 (The cistern)

However there could be many custom maps with a checkered texture. Perhaps if you had few more details it might help?

    Kind regards

I assumed it was a popular map that any qw player would recognize.

It's colorful in the sense that is looks cartoonist and bright, almost like a warsaw level or a map from South Park 64 (if that makes any sense )

I want to say the entire map is purple and pink, or light green and yellow.

Its definitely a far out map, checkered everywhere. The parts of the map seem like it's almost been designed for BunnyHopping, primarily.

      It's checkered everywhere!

Someone mentioned that it might be redrum.bsp. I did a google search for this map, and gathered that redrum was unlikely the map I was looking for.

If someone here can find a redrum map with a link, I can see if it's what I'm looking for.

      Thanks A lot!

It most certainly is a multiplayer map.

I forgot to mention that the floors are all slanted about 30-40°, requiring you to bunny-hop to gain momentum.

You could also try asking on the quakeworld.nu forum.
Could it be any of the 'slide' maps that you are looking for? Do not remember if any was all checkered though? Think they were named slide1, slide2 etc.

Nope. I know those maps. How about a map pack? Are there any map packs (big zip file) that I can download? I might get lucky and find the map there.

Plus, I have barely any maps.

Is there a way for me to download a big map pack? Without having to download maps individually?

Sill searching the web for the checkered map!

                  Hi guys.

I see no one has responded to this thread for awhile. No worries.

I have been endlessly searching google image search for any clues as to where I can find this map.

                  It hasn't yielded any results.

Just wondering if someone can direct me to somewhere online that might have a large database of q/qw bsp files.

I will search long lists if that is what it'll take.

Im pretty sure the map in question is Slopy.bsp

This is the only map with checkered floors that are slanted, that I know of. Hope this helps.
