  • It... Is... A-L-I-V-E

It's the second coming of... the trackball. With the demise of my desktop box, so went my trackball. I've made do with a couple of tablets and the wife's yoga thing for a couple or three years now... Now with the onset of the laptop... I'm tired of this friggin' regular old mouse. I can't Quake with it at all so I'm going back to what worked, or worked better. I'm bringing a little of the old desktop to the new laptop. Y'all are in serious trouble now! I see you trembling out there!

    The Old...

    The new...

I still have my old trackball, it's just like this one:

Sadly, I can't get it to work anymore, changed the cable, had it in bits but
I am afraid that it may have passed on to the big melamine-coated desk in the sky...

I used to play the shareware Doom demo with it, one-handed (around 94'ish).

Tells us how the new one feels, I have been tempted over the years to get a new one.

I love "high-end" logitech stuff. Their mice are like spaceship controls. I have a G600 and I love it.

@adam - lol, that thing is .... really square. I think it's funny that it says "The Best Trackball" on it. I had an old flight stick that was basically equvalent to your trackball in ancientness. Nothing comes with LTP ports anymore, though. If your thing did work, what would you hook it to?

The machine it originally hooked up to was my dads old 386sx20, I had that till a few years back but it was massive and clunky, so I let it go (that and a couple of others).

Now I only have one retro machine to run all the old floppy/cd stuff, I prefer it to emulation and I need the old serial ports for connecting to my A1200 and the single sided floppy for servicing the 1040STE. Also, not forgetting the Zipdrive to use with the Doc64.

Even tho' I did a big purge, I still got too much retro gear...
I should Ebay them but some things are a bit dodgy to get going and I don't have the heart to throw them away.

Yes sir.... That's what I used to play with and what I hope to be playing with in 3 - 5 business days. Back in the day, I used to play quake while sitting in a recliner. The trackball aided my comfort during marathon Quake sessions.

Logitech really does make quality products. The Logitech G27 has hand-stitched leather.
