  • How to subtract in Trenchbroom?

So I'm messing around with trenchbrrom, but I can't figure out how to subtract. What I mean by this is making a wall (from a brush) and making another brush act like an eraser. So I would drag the second brush into the first and 'subtract' the area where they touch.

    Thanks

The developer didn't include a subtract function. I'd suggest you make a brush that touches all the segments you want to remove, press Ctrl + T, then delete. He said that he didn't want to use subtract because it just leads to more face splits in things like QBSP.

    YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT...

TrenchBroom 2 has a subtract function, and it works really well. You can find the TB2 betas at TrenchBroom

Wow thanks! Will I be able to continue working on my map that I started in the latest stable release?

I haven't used TB, but usually a level editor can export and import .map files. You may lose organizational structure (if TB has one) or something else in the process, but a buildable level should come through.
