  • Quake 1 - DirectX Raytracing

I started work on a DirectX Raytracing port of Quake 1. The entire game is raytraced, and requires a Nvidia 20xx or a Nvidia 30xx. This video was shot on a Nvidia 3080. The engine supports real time raytraced lighting and shadows, raytraced Ambient Occlusion, and real time raytraced reflections. The entire game is playable including multiplayer.

    I have a released a new alpha(Alpha 5)

      Hi ICD
This looks quite promising. We have a member here called MH (a very helpful guy who unfortunately is now a long time MIA ) who produced the DirectQ port of Quake which utilised a the DirectX rendering capabilities (rather than OpenGL). It was very performant and I'm hoping your port builds on MH's success
Just out of interest, do you intend to take this project further? If so would you mind sharing some of your plans? Many thanks

      Kind regards

      Monty
