    The simplicity of the map is planned for speedball mode of our netQuake ca_x mod. It's coincidentally one of his first maps the planned blockade of crates also need to be equally light-mapped for strategy.

    try putting lights in. usually you put them in front of any light fixtures.

    1. build a lamp in the map

    2. slap a light entity in front of it

    3. see the light

    People have been known to use torches, too.

    full bright - when a map has no light entities on it, so it defaults to having one bright light so there is no shadows
